North East Florida Jazz Association
The North East Florida Jazz Association (NEFJA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in January 1987 by President Emeritus, Eugene “Jeep” McCoy. Keeping the legacy of jazz alive has been NEFJA’s goal since it was established. NEFJA has been presenting live concerts at various venues throughout Northeast Florida, and presenting scholarships to talented Jazz studies students at Florida colleges, universities, and high schools. “Supporting young people who are studying Jazz is the best way to ensure that Jazz lives on”, states NEFJA President Muriel McCoy. To date, NEFJA has hosted over 100 concerts, and awarded 58 scholarships to recipients who have gone on to become professional musicians or music educators.
